Life Round Here - James Blake
If you have a pair of quality headphones, this album will bring you great joy. And if you don’t, it’ll still give you joy.
If you haven’t listened to James Blake’s new album Overgrown, you’re seriously missing out.

After months of receiving countless suggestions from all you lovely people, I finally responded to a few of those who submitted an artist suggestion and started working on compiling my favorite suggestions on this here blog and on my Blogger account. This past semester was really trying and I never got around to anything blog related, but if there’s one thing I’m going to change in 2013 it’s to make an effort to significantly grow this blog.
So, without further to do, here are a few of my favorite suggestions. Expect to see a Mainstream Indie Artist Suggestions post in addition to Vol. 2 of the Up-and-Coming Artist suggestions in a few days.
Up-and-Coming Artists Vol. 1

Boise, Idaho based Alternative-Folk band Hollow Wood possess a strong three-part harmony reminiscent of big-name bands Local Natives and Of Monsters and Men, but the raw and heartfelt passion of a genuine indie band. Check out their powerful live session for their track Little Bird which is up for free download on the band’s Bandcamp.
Vieem
With songs that spew true emotion and a dynamic voice, this Brooklynite spares no effort to be unique in the overwhelmingly vast Pop/Alternative Rock scene. Check out Vieem’s Soundcloud to listen to a few of her R&B infused rock tracks.

Emil Lager
For fans of Bob Dylan, John Mayer, and The Rubens, Emil Lager is a pleasant combination of the three with an added hint of charm who’ll leave you yearning for a visit to the countryside.Watch the jean-clad, London-based crooner’s roof-top video for Fire Escape and check out Emil’s other tracks on his Soundcloud.

I swear, if I had a dime for every time someone asked me “Hey, where do you find all of this awesome music?”, I’d be a millionaire by now. To make things easier for all of my wonderful followers, I decided to list a few places I frequent when I’m looking for awesome, new tunage. Finding new music should be a fun and effortless task, so I hope you enjoy my suggestions…

Hey everyone! Obviously you all follow this blog because of your love for indie music, so I have some really great news about how I will take Indie Track to the next level!
I have recently started a blog (soon to be website) called Young Disposition where I will post some of my favorite indie tracks, review up-and-coming artists, and inform the public of bands that reach out to me to gain much needed exposure. I receive tons of messages from local bands through this Tumblr looking to expand their fan base and share their music with potential listeners, but I never felt as if this blog was structured enough to help these artists out. This new site will have the same basis of values as this blog (supporting indie artists) but with a dash of professionalism and a more community feel. Followers will be able to comment on posts, discuss new album releases/reviews, suggest new artists via a “Suggest an Artist” form, and can contact me through a more direct and efficient contact form. There will be lists updated bi-weekly of “Artists to Look Out For” and my “Favorite Songs (at the Moment)” as well as some general music news posts.
In addition, Young Disposition will include posts about style, photographs of concerts I attend, pieces on culture (specifically food, film and travel), and a few personal writing pieces. Basically, it’s a semi-professional combination of my personal Tumblr and my indie music Tumblr.
You can become a member of Young Dispostion by clicking the “Join This Site” widget located in the bottom right corner of the site. You can use a Google/Gmail/Googe+, Twitter, or Yahoo account to follow the blog.
I will continue to update this blog with my favorite indie tracks as I normally do, but if you want a more thorough version of this blog please follow Young Disposition. It’s still in the introduction phase but I’m working on making something major. Stop by and check it out!
Thank you all for following Indie Track and long live indie music!
